The BGV Family Reunion Comes to Life! Essence Festival 2026 Recap

There are few places where Black women gather quite like ESSENCE Festival of Culture. Every summer, thousands come together to celebrate culture, community, and connection. This year, Black Girl Vitamins was honored to return to New Orleans as an official sponsor!

After making our debut in 2025, we knew we wanted this year's experience to be bigger than a booth. We wanted it to feel like coming home.

That's exactly what the BGV Family Reunion became.

Inspired by the joy of a neighborhood cookout, our booth became a gathering place where thousands of women stopped by over the weekend to learn, laugh, dance, and celebrate wellness together. From the grass dance floor and cookout-inspired décor to the music, giveaways, and nonstop conversations, the energy never let up.

Thousands of visitors stopped by the BGV booth to grab custom tote bags, free vitamin samples, exclusive merchandise, and discover products designed specifically with Black women's health in mind. Several of our best-selling supplements sold out over the weekend, reflecting the excitement around taking control of your health.

One of the most rewarding parts of the weekend was hearing the testimonials. Women shared live testimonials about how Black Girl Vitamins has become part of their wellness journeys. Some told us how Meno Chill helped them finally manage hot flashes. Others talked about discovering their vitamin D deficiency, improving their energy, and finally feeling seen by a brand that speaks directly to their health experiences.

Those conversations are the reason we do this work.

The reunion wouldn't have been complete without incredible guests and experts. Festival attendees had the opportunity to meet our official celebrity brand partner, Malinda Williams, connect with Kerri Paul, and spend time with all three members of the Black Girl Vitamins Medical Advisory Team: Dr. Bryanne Standifer-Barrett, Dr. C. Nicole Swiner, and Dr. Joy'El Ballard.

Through the "Ask Dr. BGV" experience, women had meaningful conversations about menopause, hormone health, sleep, vitamin deficiencies, and preventive care in an approachable, community-centered setting. We also awarded a scholarship to a local New Orleans student pursuing a career in healthcare through Black Girl Vitamins' $100,000 scholarship initiative, an investment in the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Beyond the booth, our mission continued on the ESSENCE stage, where Chief Strategy Officer Jennifer Juma shared insights in an inspiring panel discussion focused on improving health outcomes for Black women. 

Looking back, The BGV Family Reunion was never just a theme. It was something we built together.

To every woman who visited our booth, shared her story, danced with us, watched us live, or simply stopped by to say hello, thank you for making this year's ESSENCE Festival unforgettable.
