We are so excited to introduce our community to two phenomenal physicians who assist in Black Girl Vitamins' product development and offer medical advice virtually and in-person. 

Meet Dr. Standifer Barrett and Dr. C. Nicole Swiner below!

Dr. Standifer-Barrett, MD

Dr. Standifer-Barrett completed medical school at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and currently serves as Board Certified Internist at Ascension Providence Omni Medical. She's also an Assistant Clinical Professor at her alma mater, and a c ertified Menopause Specialist. Dr. Bryanne Standifer is based is Detroit, MI with a strong passion for health education, and is committed to empowering individuals to lead healthier lives and prevent illness.

Dr. C. Nicole Swiner

Dr. C. Nicole Swiner is a family physician, 7-time best-selling author, and speaker who graduated from Duke University and The Medical University of South Carolina. She is the founder of Swiner Publishing Company and Serenity Hydration and Wellness med spa. Her passion lies in Minority Health, Women’s Health, Mental Health, DEI and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Swiner is located in Durham, NC, and speaks nationally on television and as a main stage speaker at events like Essence Fest.

Importance of Black Doctors

Collectively, Dr. Stan and Dr. Swiner have completed 20 educational webinars for the BGV community on topics ranging from menopause to PCOS, diabetes, fibroids, and more! They have also spoken on various panels, television stations, and provided in-person advice to customers in need.

Black doctors play a crucial role in addressing healthcare disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. Over the years, studies have proven that Black women often receive inadequate diagnoses, less effective treatment, and face higher mortality rates. 

Being seen by a healthcare provider who shares similar life experiences can make a world of difference. By welcoming these physicians to the advisory team, BGV ensures that their community receives the specialized care and support necessary to live healthier lives.
