Celebrating Black Business Month with Brands We Admire

National Black Business Month - ICIC

This Black Business Month, Black Girl Vitamins is shining a light on some incredible Black-founded brands we admire and some we’ve already worked with, each committed to empowering our community in unique ways. From health equity to travel, these partnerships prove that when Black women lead, amazing things get done.

Health In Her HUE

Health In Her HUE Announces $3 Million In Funding

In January 2025, we joined forces with Health in Her HUE (HIHH), a digital platform dedicated to bridging the health equity gap for Black women. This collaboration gives HIHH’s members access to high-quality wellness supplements tailored specifically to Black women’s needs with a special discount for members.

“I am genuinely excited about this partnership and hopeful it will inspire curiosity while encouraging proactive engagement with supplemental and preventative care,” says Princess Uzoh, HIHH’s Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Partnerships.

BGV’s products paired with HIHH’s resources make it easier for Black women to take control of their health in a culturally relevant, accessible way.

Jayla Health

Perimenopause is often left out of the conversation, especially in the context of Black women’s health. That’s why, on May 1, 2025, we teamed up with Jayla Health, a Black-founded digital women’s hormonal healthcare company, to host a live webinar covering:

  • What perimenopause is and how it impacts the body

  • Common symptoms in Black women

  • How to self-advocate in healthcare

  • Strategies for relief and balance

Led by medical experts from both Jayla Health and BGV, the session offered valuable tools for navigating this important stage of life. With BGV’s Meno-Chill supplement and Jayla Health’s at-home hormone testing kits, women can take a proactive, personalized approach to their hormonal health.

Soraka Tours

In June 2025, 10 Black women fueled by BGV Vitamin D3, Collagen Powder, reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro with Soraka Tours, a Black-owned adventure company based in Tanzania.

Founded by Sophia and Baraka, Soraka Tours creates safe, empowering travel experiences while ensuring fair pay and ethical treatment for local workers. Their mission: rewrite the narrative about who belongs in outdoor adventure spaces.

BGV’s supplements helped the climbers stay strong, energized, and resilient during their journey, proving that whether you’re climbing a mountain or chasing everyday goals, our products provide the strength, energy, and immunity you need.

Kahawa 1893

This Women’s History Month, we teamed up with Kahawa 1893, a coffee brand founded by Margaret Nyamumbo to bring justice to Kenya’s women coffee farmers. While women provide 90% of the labor in Kenya’s coffee sector, they’ve historically received little compensation due to land ownership restrictions.

Kahawa 1893 changed that by sourcing directly from these farmers and letting customers tip them — ensuring they get the pay and recognition they deserve.

Like Kahawa 1893, BGV is rooted in closing gaps — in our case, the health gap for Black women in America. Together, we’ve celebrated the power of small, intentional steps that create big, lasting impact.

Salt.XO

Gels | SaltXo

Founder of SALT.Xo, Jhalesa Seymour, has redefined what it means for women to prioritize their vaginal health. We love the vibrant packaging, pH balancing products that smell amazing, and marketing that leaves us anticipating the next drop!

Why These Businesses Matter to Us

Every one of these brands reflects what BGV stands for: culturally relevant solutions, community-driven change, and empowerment at every stage of life. Black Business Month isn’t just about celebration, but continuing to invest in one another so our wins multiply.

Here’s to more partnerships, more progress, and more power for Black women everywhere.
